Hi,
I have just bought a batmobile suitable for a chid or adult. It is the Keaton shape. It is in a bad way and I am getting it restored. It was apparently on display in Harrods when it was new, and raffled off by a newspaper company. Can anyone else give me any more information on it please.
Regards Robert.
Robert on 12/30/2011 1:55:47 PM
Can anyone help me with some info?

I have an electric replica batmobile that runs of 240v.
The drivers compartment is only suited for about 12yrs and under.. Its roughly about 9 ft long and made of fibreglass..
It came into my possesion in 92' during promos of BATMAN RETURNS.. And apparently there are 3 within Australia.

I have searched many a site/forum but have never found a single post/blog or even acknowledgement that it exists, bar the vehicle in my carport!
I have photos if needed.

Any info would be greatly appreciated?
Cheers!

If anybody can help me that would be great. I am looking for the color code for me to be able to paint my car the same color as the Batmobile, just like the Micheal Keaton version Batmobile. I was doing some research, and found that it said the color for the Batmobile was not a true black but the color "Gray Onstar"

I also noticed from the two Micheal Keaton movies, that the Batmobile in the first Batman was a little darker, and then in Batman Returns, it is more shiny. Getting the proper color code would be awesome. All help would be greatly appreciated.

We only banned Kory and DonC(and their cohorts who come back later to bitch about it). Kory for starting a builders flame war with Don Currie by posting a picture of Don Currie's thin 66 kit in a molds discussion thread. Currie at his own and Batgod's requests. The site doesn't make money off of any particular builders. But why should the site promote any builders who constantly spam the board and its members?
Anonymous on 10/6/2008 5:01:44 PM
I am new to the whole batmobile message board world, and I have been reading your site for a few months now, what I don't understand is why your pushing the builders away!! how many builders are left here that are building the '89? maybe 2? think about it first mark & kory, then don c and now paul, who's next? hines? maybe you should promote builders instead of banning them, just a though. the whole bat world would be better off if everone could get along, and stop bashing each other.

Our favorite troll, Don Currie has been very busy. He's been spamming the main page for months with his troll comments. I've blocked most of his IP addresses so even if the comments are entered into the database, not all are published on the main site. Now whenver some of the posts are posted online, in an effort to drive him away from this website I simply change the commentor's name to Don Currie.
You'd think a normal person would just stop at this point but not Don Currie. He comes on every single night to post his usual spam. There is a special section on the board(few members have access to the thread) where any comment posted from main site is immediately posted on the thread with IP address information. So here are all the comments that were posted by our favorite troll Don Currie.

Now for your amusement.
I've set up this thread so that any new comments that are posted from main site will also get posted here real time. Would the douche bag continue to spam and risk exposing his true stupidity out in the open or does this ahole have some sense of dignity left in him and will stop showing his face around here and just wither away in corner in shame? Either way, I have nothing to lose.

Hi

I have somebody wanting to sell me one of the movie cars.
What would be a fair price in your opinion to pay....
I guess I would base it on what ever your currently asking
for your Kit build cars.........
If you could help with a fair price to pay I would really appreciate
it..
The car is said to be the number five movie car with a Chevy
350 engine....
Top speed is said to be only 54 mph
I was told that three of the five were only prop show cars and
one other is semi operational..........
It is one of the five original 1989 keaton Batmobiles....

Thanks so much

On this message here board Paul Sher Jr (www.codeoneauto.com) posts his messages under the nickname BATGOD. On www.shavedbysher.com I tell you how he ripped me off for 30,000 dollars. I paid 30k deposit for a car in 2003, his business partner paid 10k back in 2007 and after Sher told me to send 10k as soon as possible he changed his mind and now claims that he never got anything from me. Other stories of customers ripped off by him are available upon request.

All of you who want to buy products from him should make your decisions under the information that wanted to have when I paid 30,000 dollars for nothing.

Nodeman posted this post on this site and the 1966 board..I have responded to it there also ....My response is below his post

NODEMAN WROTE:While we are on the subject of recasting, how about when Don Curry purchased the Butts/Barris Black Beauty molds from Bob Butts. Once Don got the molds everything went south. Don refused to pay for the molds or even ship them back. Don decided just to keep them for himself without paying for them. Bob contacted Don and asked for the money or the molds back, Don refused. Bob Butts had no other choice but to take the matter to court. The case went before the court in Cal. and Don lost big time the court deemed that the Black Beauty molds were the sole property of Mr. Butts, Don was ordered to return the molds back to Mr. Butts.
In the mean time Bob J. purchased the molds from Mr. Butts and paid cash up front. Bob sent a trucking firm to pick up the molds from Don Curry's residence, they found that the molds were wrapped in tape only. The trucking firm contacted Bob and told him that if they were to ship the molds in this condition that they would surly be damaged in shipment. Bob paid the extra charge to have the molds properly containerized.
Not before returning the molds Don Curry pulled a splash mold from the Black Beauty Kit for himself. Don has since then sold several kits to board members and Paul Shear.
Bob J. clearly owns all the rights to those molds and we would like them back!

MY RESPONSE: .OK nodeman...answering you number 1 Don did not buy the Beauty Kit from Bob Butts.....I purchased the kit from someone for $5000.00...This person assured me that it was the original mold...he was paid in full...and I had them shipped directly to Don...When they were on there way there we found out that they were illegal molds ...but had conversations with Bob Butts and he said that all was well... NUMBER 2, Don Paid us for the molds

NUMBER 3: Bob J Purchased the molds from us for only $1500.00 and Don shipped them to him.

NUMBER 4, The molds belonged to us and we told Don he could pull a mold ....and lastly No one owns the rights to the mold except maybe the estate of Bob Butts ...so Nodeman maybe you should check out your tall fantasies before you post them

Love and Peace

shane on 6/8/2008 1:39:56 PM
If you havent seen it yet, check out the Batmobile Owner's Manual. It
is illustrated by Richard Chasemore, who did the Star Wars Cross-
Section books and is full of great artwork and details. It also has a
very cool 3-D cover. It is based on the Jim Lee version, which is very
similar to the 1989 car.

Hey how you going!
Im a Graphic Design student from Australia.
reacently i was given an assignment: to draw a car using Adobe Illustrator.
being that the original Batman TV show was one of my favourites growing up I wanted to draw the 1966 Batmobile.
However I have been unable to find any deacent images on the web.
could anyone help???
It needs to be a high resolution image as it needs to be at A3 size.
It also needs to show the front and down the side of the car.
If you could help that would be great!

Hi chaps, I have been trying to join the forum for the last week or so as
'coventry automotive design student' but alas have had no success. I wanted to share with you what I have made for my 3D modelling module at university - I did the Keaton batmobile. it is about 98% accurate, the only innacuracies are in surface finish as I ran out of time.

Basically I thought you might like it as a resource, as I used everything I could find on this site to make it as accurate as possible to the movie version, perhaps even more accurate as it is 100% symmetrical. It means you can look at the batmobile from absolutely any angle. If you could get in touch via the email provided and give me a contact email address that would be ideal.

Cheers in advance

Hi !

My name is Sébastien (from France) and I also realize models in paper of planes, star wars vessels, and robots and i would try also batman's cars.

I begin the creation of a website to help people in their models creation (http://maquettes.m6blog.fr/) and I'd like to know if you would allow me to use the pictures published on your site about keaton car and tumbler.

Thanks for your answer.

Sébastien.

you know, i was running around in batman costumes, and collecting batmobiles and following the dc story line since i can remember, It was the most inspiring sight ever to come me when I had seen the Micheal Keaton "Batman" movie. I am a very skilled mechanic, yet I dont have a shop. An engine replacement is simple, as long as you got a good engine and parts to be placed in it. If you are still interested in haveing someone repair the Batmobile, it would be an honor and a dream for me to do this task. I am dazed just thinking about it. I have been desiring to make a replica of my own, starting with completely new fabrication of go karts in the batmobile fashion. I am a craftsman and a dreamer, I would love the oportunity and honor of this job. email me at pbjr76@hotmail.com if you see this.

Hallo,

my name is Daniel Maiterth and I’m working for the German television production company Story House Productions. Right now I’m arranging a documentary about Movie Cars. In this context I’m very interested in the rebuilts of the batmobiles on your hompage, because we’re looking for guys, who built their dream-hollywood-car. Would it be possible to send me some pictures of the finished cars and also contact-informations (email-adresses) of the builders, so I can contact them? I would be gratefull for any information you might have.

Best regards from Berlin

I believe the original batmobile originated from the 1955 Ford Futura concept car.
Has this been replaced by the 1977 Lincoln chassis?

Get off your mighty horse.
If it's going to cause such a media sensation, why don't you just get the media to help you find the shop?
Friendly Neighbor on 9/28/2007 6:37:29 PM
Greetings,

My client owns one of the Barris Batmobiles. This specific Batmobile was used during the filming of the Warner Brothers film Rock Star with Jennifer Anniston.

This Batmobile currently resides with the owner in Jacksonville Florida. It recently suffered an electrical fire in the engine compartment and caused extensive damage to the engine, electronics, fuel system, and hydraulic lines.

The Batmobile sits on a 1977 Lincoln chassis with a stock 400 CI V8.

My client wants to refurbish the Batmobile inside and out and install a 427 turbo Jet. I have been asked to find someone who can to the job the right way, the first time.

If you have the skills and experience, are interested, and have time to undertake the above project, please email me your qualifications, website information, references, photos of your work, etc. If I am convinced that you and your shop are qualified to undertake this project, I will introduce you to the owner, and to the Batmobile, and then you will have the opportunity to provide us with a written estimate after your full examination of the Batmobile first hand.

Needless to say, this project will generate national media coverage. If your shop is chosen to refurbish the Batmobile, your shop will undoubtedly receive national media coverage.

This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the right person!

If you're interested, please contact me.
