DonC (9/4/2007)
However the 89 bodyshell is, not to mention straight and true...no hacking and spliiting in two like the guy in Ohio had to do. Do you speak in rhyme, all the time? Just kidding. Looks awesome, more pics, more pics!

I'm very familiar with the original 89 flaws just as I am with the 66.
What some may be mistaking for a dip across the top of my roofline is a molding seam.
All told if I run a straight edge across my roof the 'dip' is only 1/4".
Hardly a dip in my books.
Meanwhile here's a pic of my 89 JIG.
Specifically built for the tube frame I'm building for the 89.
The BIGJIG is 20' long, 8' wide and 1/4" wall thickness with leveling bolts on each leg.
GO BIG OR GO HOME!

Jack,
I like ya...but that's a silly request.
You'll just have to take my word on the 'dip'.
Of the several body flaws or should I say ...lack of true street details
on the 89 is no drip rails or even horizontal flanges off what little vertical flanges there are to adapt a drip rail.
Well I aim to correct that.

I like the idea of drip rails and flanges - like on your newest '66. But I don't understand - why is that a silly request? We've asked the same from anyone else who has claimed to have a "straight" body.

Don, I like you but what a silly statement. The original car didn't come with drip rails or dips. It did come with flanges between the front and rear halves. You could add flanges between the two body halves to make it more like the original.

I'm with Justin, Don you have a great idea. Add your signature drip rails to the canopy and trunk areas. That would be taking it to a new level for sure.
