DonC (9/4/2007)it wasn't perfect.
However the 89 bodyshell is, not to mention straight and true...no hacking and spliiting in two
like the guy in Ohio had to do.
.. and WHERE, exactly, did he get that body again? Further evidence that if you DON'T buy a body that is straight and true to begin with, then you will be put through hell to make it right.
Kudos if your '89 is that good, Don! We would LOVE to see pictures! Also, can we add you to the list of people who will sell an '89 kit, or do you prefer to stay in the shadows? Or do you not sell '89 kits, only turnkeys?

Seems the supply train out west to you Justin got inadvertently diverted to Ohio. Mr supplier wasn't too happy.

And my buyer wasn't too happy when they saw the quality of the body from YOUR supplier, Don. So don't start that game with me. It VERY clearly needed professional help - CORRECTION - a professional REBUILD. And that is exactly what it is having done, and the final owner of the body is already much happier.
Before you start throwing stones, Don, be very careful that it is what you really want to do.

Also, the body you have there looks good from what we can see. Congrats! But you never answered the question - do you want to be added to the CLTC builder's list that gets sent out to interested parties, or no? DH has the outgoing letter, so maybe he can add you if you want to try and score a few sales. I see you did not remove the dip in the top scoop - I assume that means that, although I am sure the molds and subsequent bodies are smooth, they have all the inherent flaws of the other molds out there? I ask for information sake, of course.

Don - again, I compliment you on the look of this '89 body you have shown there. We'd all love to see pictures. I would say it is in a whole different league than this one, wouldn't you agree?

BODY YOU MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY IN THIS THREAD

Looks good. J is talking about the low spot on the top of the roof, just above the roof intake. Should have added a flange around the main body to hood area. Dang, when will someone get it right?

Send me over a shot of the car head on, and I will clearly illustrate the dip I am talking about, Don. Jack knows, we've all discussed it around here often enough. If you are not familiar with the flaws in the '89, I would be happy to find the thread for you. It would really be no trouble.
