I have a newb questions.
I see all those wooden boards in yours and other build logs. Are they just for support and weight during building process or do they stay in the final product?

Baneful (1/4/2013) I have a newb questions.
I see all those wooden boards in yours and other build logs. Are they just for support and weight during building process or do they stay in the final product?
Those specific pieces of plywood are used as spacers/padding for the hood mounts that are attached to the hood. But in general plywood has been used for many years in hot rod building for floors/walls/framing and interior panels.
The plywood that I'm using will be sandwiched between fiberglass cloth or matt to make them water tight. This technique is used a lot in boat construction. So most of the wood you see in my build will be staying.
