RE: just wondering how long
12 guys -30 Days from liquid resin to license plates. 10 Gallon drums to 10 miles per gallon.
Dan's cars been in progress for almost 6 years. Sharp had mine on the street in a weekend. That's the fastest I've ever seen a body become driveable.
"Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
He MAKES them you idiot!

RE: just wondering how long
Well, mine doesn't really count, but I started it almost two years ago, however, I have not put two years worth of work into it. I go months at a time without touching it. Then when I do, it's an hour here and two hours there...

RE: just wondering how long
That's the whole plan. After I finish the plug I will create the mold and then pull a body. I'll probably just hand lay the first one, but I'd like to try my hand at vacuum infusion after that.

RE: just wondering how long
Sorry Rusty, just got back from Florida about ten minutes ago. Sad that the first thing I do is log on to the Batmobile boards!!!
Dan's builder has had his car for about 5 years I think... Could very well be coming up on 6. When I first met Dan was shortly after I got out of the Army (2 years ago) and he mentioned that it had been 4 years at that point. Man time flies!!!

RE: just wondering how long
I know there are several factors at work in Dan's build, which are not my place to discuss publicly. However Dan might want to chime in if he lurks around here...
I DO know that the builder is not interested in building any more turnkeys (he built the Carmel car among others) and is turning to selling kits fairly soon here. He is the one who referred Nate to Eddie Paul for his build.
Now as for the progress - there has been quite a bit done since the video, but the extent I am unsure of. Dan is supposed to be in town SOON (like a week or so) and I am hoping to see the car at that point.
--------------
Now, as for whether or not I could meet up with Jack or Kevin - unfortunately no. :( I was too many hours from Jack's house, and although I was IN Kevin's hometown for about a day, Kevin was tied up with a CSI. (tragic story, actually... I hope everything worked out)
It is ok, because I ended up being so darn busy that it would have been hard to visit anyways. I will make another trip soon, however!
