That's an awesome article!

RE: Tumbler Stuff

Yeah I definately think the tumbler spec section needs an update with this information. Kinda goes with what that one anonymous writer wrote about the tumbler, as far as the weight and such. Well I've looked closely at the pictures of the tumbler front axel assembly, and I am still mighty confused. I'll figure it out sooner or later. Hopefully soon so I can start on mine. If anybody can find anything for me I'd be most greatfull. e-mail me with anything cool

RE: Tumbler Stuff

Awesome info. The Batmobile is so real that it actually served as the pace car for a major NASCAR race held in June 2005. Yeah right!! Sure looked like a Chevy SSR truck to me.

RE: Tumbler Stuff

That article is full of inaccuracies. Their fact checker should be fired.

RE: Tumbler Stuff

Yeah well heres the catch... It was written before the race so yeah I do not debate the innacuracies... But I think it does give us a more accurate weight scale... I mean I work in machine design and technology... and I just finished buidling a press the ways 3,000 pounds and it was half the size of this car... seriously tho i think 5,000 lbs is a lil light. But yeah the article is cool cause of the "truth" behind the real abilites of the car. No doubt we need to get ahold of the designer :)

I think we need to elect Everett to official Tumbler info/fact finder. Everett you're off to a great start. Make sure to keep us all posted and as everyone here has heard me say before, TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!!

Where's the inaccruacy? I 'm not much of a car buff so i only got half of what was out there but can you tell us what the inaccuracies are?

thanks

RE: Tumbler Stuff

Nathan Crowley is a great guy and I remember talking to him on many of these topics. I believe in what was written about his involvement, not sure about the full-size build though.

RE: Tumbler Stuff

"it actually served as the pace car for a major NASCAR race held in June 2005." The pace care was a Chevy SSR

"It has two driving positions -- one for driving and one for jumping/flying." The second position was not for jumping.

"The rear tires are 37-inch-diameter" They're 44 inches.

"a 6-foot-long (2-meter), 1:5 scale model of the Batmobile" If 6 feet is 1:5 scale then the real car must be 30 feet long!...

and those are just the ones I'm pretty sure about.

RE: Tumbler Stuff

Alright Tim, you win! I wonder if the article was written before the race. That second driving position really didn't make sense to me in the film. I mean he went in and out a few times but why? The sketches/storyboards we saw had the Tumbler arched up he was firing all over the place.

Well that's your problem then...

RE: Tumbler Stuff

There's also enough room in that cockpit to fit a small country. Do the math, Batman is about 6' tall. The body was obviously taken from the action figure toy, and did you notice the '89 afterburner??

RE: Tumbler Stuff

What did I do? I didn't mean "That's your Problem", I meant "That's your problem"... (reading the LA Times)

That "infographic" looks cool, but don't use it for reference material.
