Camro Concept 2006 - The Ugly!!
Edmunds is reporting that Chevy plans to debut a Camaro concept at the 2006 Detroit auto show and is scheduling to revive the nameplate for production as early as 2009. The new Camaro will use a low-cost rear-wheel-drive platform from an undetermined source. It could use a version of the Sigma platform that underpins the CTS and STS or possibly the next-generation Holden Commodore platform. In addition to underpinning the Camaro, this new rear-wheel-drive platform would also likely be used for the next GTO, as well as new sedans and coupes in many of GM’s brands. With the Dodge Challenger also not scheduled for release until at least 2008, the Mustang still has a few more years to rake in the cash for Ford.

RE: Camro Concept 2006 - The Ugly!!
Well, it is not an ugly car, per se.... But it is NOT a Camaro. Sure, it contains shadows of the 60's style Camaros with its front grill and such, but when I first look at it I imagine it is the bastard child of a new Mustang and some other POS car. Not my cup of tea, by any stretch of the imagination. If they took the Camaro name off of it, I might be able to support a concept car of this styling. Slap some green paint on it and some undercarriage lights, as well as a muffler can that causes dogs to howl uncontrollably in the night, and you MIGHT have a market for this car.

That pics been floating around for a few years now. It was created by a graphic design student. To my knowledge GM hasn't released any concrete details on the new Camaro other than what was posted in the above article.
