What's going on? How come the forum took a nose dive all of sudden? What happend to great posters like Jack and Tim or the new Batgod? Did Warner Brothers put C&D on you guys or something?

RE: What's going on? I'm still here??? Was away for the weekend, but have been posting all over the board the last few nights. Started late tonight because the shoot ran late and we had a crew meeting after that. 
Then I get home at about 3AM to a phone call from one of my glassin' friends who tells me that "Geek's" been emailing him and wanting to talk to him on the phone about what Bat vehicles he has available. He asked me what the story is with this guy and I told him the same as always. "Doesn't have any cash, so there's no sense in wasting the time cutting a deal with him... At best, he's trying to cut a deal with you for a cheap body that he can trade to Mark in exchange for more work on his car... Most probably just sniffing around people that he knows I know, to see who bought my molds so he can look like a hero on the boards that he's found a new source of kits... Tell him you have EVERYTHING and can get him whatever he wants. Tell him the going rate for an 89 kit is $900.00 if he gets you the cash in 48 hours. Tell him "Any bat kit $900.00 shipping included!" and let's see what he does." Then I turned around and told all of my friends to tell him the same thing. "Let's tell him EVERYONE has the molds and everything is REALLY cheap. Let's have some fun with this guy!" So I was on the phone until about an hour ago. And YES DH, I'm enjoying the heatwave. 
The girls are still shooting on both of the Bat bikes, so I can't suit up and rip them down to the frames to start on the side cars just yet. So I'm just hitting the beach and the pool parties until we're ready. Gonna trim and sand a Knight Rider dash tomorrow for a client if it makes you feel better to know that I'll be working.

RE: What's going on? And I am so far behind on printing!!! I had an order for 100 shirts that was originally due Monday, but the client decided she needed them TOMORROW instead... So I spent all afternoon burning screens and aligning the job on the press (2 colors... didn't have to take down the CLTC screens!) and printing a test shirt. Tomorrow morning she proofs it, and then its off to the shop for printing. THEN I have an order for 100 nylon garment bags (2 colors, but its on BLACK so it's a pain in the butt to print... Gotta lay a thick white underbase first, DOUBLE'S production time), an order for 50 shirts for a tattoo artist, then CLTC SHIRTS BY SUNDAY!!! Ready to ship on Monday. And all the while, I am trying to find an investor who wants to loan a young entrepreneuer $5k for an equipment upgrade that will TRIPLE productivity overnight. So yeah, I've been too busy to think about Batmobiles, too. Anybody want to loan me $5k???
I am also re landscaping the house, and fixing all the little "weekend projects" between jobs. Got in the spirit and decided to redo my room, too. I am gonna finish my '66 hood and hang it on the wall until I have the rest of the car, and I am framing the blueprints for the '89 and tiling them above the bed. Its gonna look cool! Now where do I put my Hot Wheels 1/18 Batmobile.... ------------------------ I made these icons:

Actually, not for Batmobiles... but you seem to be the only damn guy around with the Mach 5, which is my real secret interest. :) (I figure if I ever get around to building a car, there will be less people jumping down my throat if I build an innacurate M5) But there is one MAJOR problem here..... I am an MGD man, myself. Or a light Hef.

"It was A LOT" No secret here that while I respect you as a builder, I detest your two boys for trashing your name all over the place. Your guys are attempting to sell cars for you by actively bashing everyone else. Kory even called one of my customers in So. Cal who purchased a dozen different cars from me and had the balls to tell him that he'd better get his deposit back immediately because I was going to screw him over. Now this wouldn't have been so funny if my client wasn't already sitting on ALL of his cars (literally) in his own garage while talking to Kory. Kory proceeded to explain to him all of the things that were wrong with my cars. My client was amused and questioned him as to how he knew this. Geek said; "OH... I've seen them!" Then my client began to question him as to whether or not I included this or that on one of my cars. (Each of these pieces he selected from one of the cars I'd made him that was in his possession at that particular moment.) Geek denied the use of each piece. The client wanted to wring his neck at that moment because Geek told him; "I fixed Paul good, man... He had a set of Black Beauty molds pulled from Bob's (Butts) parts and I dimed him out to Bob. He's gonna get screwed!" Truth was THAT PARTICULAR CLIENT was the one who did it, not me! and Bob had sued this guy for 250 grand because of it. Client said; "At that moment, if I could have reached through the phone and choked that little f$cker, I'd have done it." Geek contacted me years ago, asked a thousand questions and wanted trade me his 66 molds for a few Bat bodies... FIVE to be exact. Told him it was cheaper for me to buy a set of mold from Don C. Then run him out five cars. I called Don and asked him as to the condition of those molds and was told "Splash molds, sold it to Kory cheap. Won't survive 5 pulls. Don't bother." Went back to Geek and told him only a fool would take him up on that offer. He told me that someone else already had and I could go F myself. I found out who and asked him why he'd take that deal. He told me "Like I was really gonna do that. Was going to use the molds to pull one for myself then tell Kory the molds were unuseable. Give me a LITTLE credit!" Once I told Geek to either "put up the cash or shut up" he declined and started an entire new line of questioning about buying a Batcycle. Told him. "I don't have the time" and stopped returning his calls. At which point, I became his target for BS on the 66 boards and walked away from them. (I can assure you, if you let those two little trolls of yours post here, I'm outta here just as fast.) Now Brett's twice as simple. He sent me a 5K deposit for a 66. I gave it to Jay for a body that he had sitting in his garage. Jay told me that he'd pull a mold off of it then turn it over to me. Then used the cash to get it mounted on a chassis instead (Same car that's been seen on this board with the Jay O. Hollywood Cars lettering on the side) Basically F'ed me out of my 5K. (The reason we don't talk anymore) I had to S$it 5K to give it to Butts to get Brett a body in a hurry. Bob cut the price down to 12K from 15 and I ate 2K of that deal. Brett didn't pay me for the metal parts (Wasn't part of the deal anyway) and cut a deal with Bob to buy the metal and small parts for extra cash. He sent me a bunch of "I LOVE YOU MAN!!!... You're the best!" emails then turned around and negotiated an 89. I caught wind that he was going to mold it and I killed the sale. Told him that if I caught him molding it... I'd take a cordless sawzall to his car. He sent me the drunken voicemail that has become a legendary joke in the Batworld. Basically calling me a BS artist and a wannabe who's never built a single car and who "lives in my daddy's basement and drives an old rusted out truck!" (DH has a copy, he can post it for laughs if you like or for you to REALLY see what you've got working for you.) Then, this clown goes and buys a Batbike from one of my clients, knowing full well that I made it. Pulls my CODE 1 off the back of the tail light and tells everyone that he made it. Plus... the guy who wouldn't buy a kit off me for 35 hundred (Because I didn't really have it and if I did it would be S@it anyway.) turns around and tries to sell my bike for 15K on his website. You're a great guy Mark, but you've got two drunken clowns working for you which makes you guilty by association in the eyes of a lot of builders and clients. I'm not the only one they've pulled this crap on in attempt to make you "The BEST". I'm not trolling, I'm telling it like it is. I don't like them for the crap they pull in your name and I make no secret about it.

Not interested in getting into it with you. I think your talented. I've seen some of your stuff in person and in photos and I truly think it's good stuff. But your boys... (And they do claim to be "your representatives")???? There's no love lost there and they know it. My original bitch was simply... "Oh crap! He's at it again and I gotta spend hours on the phone cutting him off at the knees with the buyers and builders." Absolutely no love those for him. BTW... I do know how to spell his name, but I like my spelling and pronunciation better and so do the clients and builders. We even have a cartoon that's been passed over email since the 66 mold situation. I despise "representatives" calling current and past clients claiming "You should get your money back! Mark can build you a quality 66 instead of the crap you're gonna get." And he DID contact Butts and my client got his a$$ sued off as a result. In the end, Bob died before collecting on it. I found out that Bob had died because my client called me... happy about the cancellation of the lawsuit. He DID do this! He's guilty of that and so much more including his "Charles (whatever)" alias emails to just about everyone, myself included. He's a bad businessman and makes you look bad by association. That's all. If he's making cash for you and you're happy with the way he does it? Well... that's your call. But it's pretty ugly out there and his reputation is crap as a result. Personally, this isn't between you and me. There's no problem there. And I don't think it's come close to that. But there's nothing to be gained from standing up for someone like Kory. As I said before. Don and I are cool. Justin,DH and Jack and the builder from No. Cal. are cool. I've even talked to Clint on occaision and have no problems there. I respect your work (even if I don't, your choice of reps.) and always look forward to what you'll come up with. (I liked the cardboard Batboat, thought that was cool, would like to see it when done.) So I'm pretty cool with you from my end. But I detest those two clowns and won't back down when it comes to them. If you and I were on the phone or email. My question would be "What the f#ck is a talented guy like yourself doing hanging around with two dorks like them????" If they get OOH, now that I'm out of the biz and just a regular owner like everyone else... I'll dime them out myself. And give them the same directions to their locations as they gave me when they wanted their cars shipped. This is not a flame war or trolling. Just a bitch that "yet again, Geek is pissing me off." You've defended him in a situation where he can't defend himself and that's admirable. And you can understand and appreciate that "I DO NOT LIKE THEM" for the crap they've pulled. But I think we can leave it at this.

RE: What's going on? call me crayz but i fail to see what the disucssion u to are having has anything to do with the 1989 batmobile. theres always gonna be somone that doesnt like someone or somoens work, or someone that works for somone who works they like, u could win one battle and another one would pop right up, i learned this a long time ago, the only real way to counter it is not to sit there argueing and compaling but let ur work speak for itself. action proves greater then words. now sotp the bickering or ill blunt end u both with my lightsaber. im not asking u to to compeltly liek each other just show respect for the rest of us here and take ur discusion to either e-mail or pm,s or start a post just for u to to arguee on that way we know what post to avoide. now back to the discussion about the 1989 batmobile. |
