Are those Tumblers behind the Tumbler? I love modern art.

Jack, it's because you can't polish a turd. Those who got sucked into the hype, and the ooh-ahh it can do this factor of the Tumbler had to admit after it was all said and done..... it just aint a classic. Sadly for Tumbler, always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Keaton Car still is THE Batmobile. Period.

RE: Tumbler feels neglected
This is my first post here, though I've been lurking a while. Just thought I'd stick up a little for the Tumbler. I've started building my own already ( 1/12 scale ). I've been attempting to do it the hard way and have been basing all the dimensions off of the blueprints in the Tumbler specs section on this website plus all of the pictures members have been posting. Thanks to all for those by-the-way. My model is about halfway done in Stage 1 (cardboard, to test measurements), then I'll move on to Stage 2, 1/6 scale maybe sheet metal or plastic. After that, I'll be exploring the possiblilty for a full size application.
It's been fun so far and I've been having all kinds of flashbacks from my highschool drafting class.

RE: Tumbler feels neglected
Malarchy - I'll be curious to hear/see the progress of your project.
I'm a huge fan of the Tumbler - I've had the Hot Wheels 1:18 '89 for quite some time, proudly displayed in its case among a very very small collection of car-related items (I like the look of certain '32 street rods as well) ... fact is, I'm not really a car person.
But I'm an 'object' person; when something catches my interest, especially because of shape/style/geometry, I focus on it hard.
(The other thread with the picture of my Tumbler 'collection' to date will attest to this).
Point is, I'm quite happy to now have the Hot Wheels 1:18 Tumbler displayed right along with the '89...
Good luck with your project(s) - keep us posted, and take pics.

This should be better (avatar) - and still on topic =]
Edit - D'oh! I just realized; that's Steve-O (sp?) isn't it?
Took me a moment to clue in there... thanks for thinking of me.

RE: Tumbler feels neglected
Thanks for the welcome.
I'm similar to you Steve in that I have an interest in cars, but am not a "car person". Cars with original (often ugly by some standards) styling always catch my eye.
I'll try to provide some pics once "Stage Cardboard" is done, assuming it's not too hideous.

RE: Tumbler feels neglected
... even if the progress shots appear 'hideous' to you, it would still be fascinating to see...
Besides, that's just the first stage...
