RE: Bob's are we getting close
well,... shoot. here's the thing.. we are supposed to be hearing from DC comics (DC direct) on a big project that they wanted us to do. But.... it's been a while since I've heard from them, and I sent 2 emails, and left one phone message... Haven't heard back...so, first I gotta find out what is going on with this thing, so we can plan the rest of the year out. I am going to try to get a handle on what's going by the middle of this week, and I will let you guys know. I will then have a serious talk with bob about how much it will cost us to do. There's the possiblity of making everything metal look EXACTLY like metal, and then there's actually using metal(more expensive). Also given the no. of variations out there, (original 89', onstar, etc..) we will have to settle on one version.

I think fiberglass or something light would be best. As for the finish you could always do them plain and let the buyer decide. ALSA makes some amazing paints that look like chrome, like the ones on the OnStar car and an aluminum finish like the other original 89. I would also make them to where real hardware and v-band clams could be used. Either way I'm in no hurry.

RE: Bob's are we getting close
to add to what you said jack, during the pre-prod of Batman and Robin, I was contacted by a guy who runs a company called luminor. They sprayed their stuff on resin copies of the Mr. Freeze suit. The downside to their stuff is that it requires some sort of training. The reason I was contacted is that some people at the Batshop told the guy I might be a possible customer for this stuff besides them. So that's another option as well. I would want to use an epoxy resin system, not anything urethane. Urethane is too soft. There's also some good games you can play with epoxy to make it look like raw steel without any paint or surface coating.

Also if this does transpire, I will need a copy of that area. i.e. I sure as heck don't want to guess at the dimensions. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think that that area that gets the techno stuff is separate from the casting of the body? Could depend on who did the casting of the body?

Sorry Bobs I know you will do a great job on the parts, but I think I will hold out for some metal parts. Not trying to be a kill joy but like the metal idea much better. Thanks anyways
