Intake turbine

I thought this pic would be a good example of how to mock up the fan blade . This one sold on e-bay but was way toosmall but still gives you a good idea how to get started.

It would not be hard to hook up the fan to the motor, and use it for a cooling device, has anyone done something like this? Watch those little kid fingers though.

Not really needs a lot of work,but i just laid the the blades in to show you how they fit in the housing.They are not put in correct spacing.
THAT IS NOT MY SANDALS THATS MY WIFE'S FEET,MY FEET ARE MUCH MUCH BIGGER THAN THAT.

I bet one of you 66 guys started calling it a Tur-bine. You guys love that Tur-bins to speed thing don't you? Come you know you do.

Here's a litle jet engine 101. Like it matters.



A gas turbine engine consists basically of only four parts: a compressor, a combustion chamber, a turbine and an exhaust nozzle.

The compressor consists of a series of fan blades that suck air into the engine and compress it, thereby increasing the pressure, density and temperature of the air.

The compressed air then flows into the combustion chamber where it is mixed with a fine spray of fuel and the mixture ignited. The air expands and escapes through the turbine.

The turbine consists of another series of fan blades coupled directly to the compressor blades. The escaping gases cause the turbine to rotate, which drives the compressor, thereby sucking in more air.

The hot air continues to accelerate out of the engine through the nozzle, producing a powerful stream of air, which drives the aeroplane forward.

Actually Jack I started calling it a turbine for the lack of a better word . I got tired of DH calling it the (thingy at the front of the car that has a nose and blades and spins and makes a vroom vroom noise ).

If you want to try to find one it's called an Air Inlet Housing and the first stage are vanes (variable inlet guide vanes) the second set (rotation) is the first stage compressor. I think you custom set will look great.

The variable IGV are allowed to move to regulate the amount of air that enters the compressor. Notice the round area at the bottom of the vane. They would all be linked together and when actuated would all open or close.

Even a simpler term they suck and blow....

You could at least explain what "IGV" are, Inlet Guide Vanes....

Layman’s terms the spinney finger cutters...

If you listen to Tim Burton's commentary on Special Disc, he calls it Jet Enginey Thingy in front.

Well if Tim Burton called it a Jet engine thingy DH, I am sorry I ever doubted you . I dont recall him making the vroom vroom noise though.
