RE: Both my Bats together
It's going to be a while now; mine will have to go on the back burner. I have to pull two more 66's for customers. I spent all day setting up the molds; one guy wants his in two weeks.

Kev that looks the job. U not only have 2 kits which should be enough to make anyone envious but ur 89 comes wit a free Bob. Cool. You know U have to knock that garage and build a bigger one now. These projects are never ending.

RE: Both my Bats together
My two little boys are the greatest, and the best thing of all is I got the house most of the cars, motorcycle, all the cool toys and half her salary for the next 18 years, court ordered every month. What more could a man ask for!

RE: Both my Bats together
Thanks guys, if it wasn't for the fact I have been a single dad since my boys were just babies I would have been finished a long time ago. I just have too much on my plate to keep up with everything. Now I have to drop everything to work on two other 66 cars.

RE: Both my Bats together
Hi Kevin,
nice pair! Your 89 seems to sit a bit high, and I know you are not finished, but you mentioned somewhere you had that handled. What's your plan to not scrape but also not have it look like the carmel 4x4?

RE: Both my Bats together
I've notice that your replica is a bit high also, Kevin. Are you going to shave the springs to lower it?
If I ever get to build my car, I plan on using airbags to raise the car up when driving. Which could pose a huge problem for tire clearance. If I wanted to use the correct tire for the front of the car I couldn't raise the car during driving.
I believe that with the car raised the bottom of the body *wheel well* will rub the tires and prevent full turns. A way to correct this would be to use smaller tires, or mount the front tires further in to the body. The main side effect of this mod would make the car "not look right".
Any ideas or thoughts on how to tackle this problem and not fear pot holes or driveways?
Nick

RE: Both my Bats together
Looks like Kevin's car sits just right for ground clearance at approx 4-6"?
If he's not running hydraulics....
He's gonna need that clearance just to drive it, perhaps taller tires might be the answer to fill the wells up top.

RE: Both my Bats together
Eventually I will net to fit the car with air bags; there is one company who makes a set that installs without any major modifications. The front tires are the largest that will fit in the wheel well without hitting clock to clock. The backs will accommodate a one-inch larger tire.
The way it sits right now is fine for driving it clears most obstacles; maybe I need curb feelers?
PS: the tires are touching the ground
