RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
I think it's great that someone built it but it's way to small. I would love to make one myself but I've got enough projects.

I have always loved that design; it would be great to build one and relatively easy compared to the others. I also have my plate full as well, it will have to wait for now.

Could we get a crapload of pics posted of this car from the animated series? I know I could probably go look them up on Google, but I have to eat right now... I'll be back soon.

You should see my OTHER car. Its a scooter.

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
Nice. Anybody have the specs on this car? For instance, how long would it be if it were made full size? I would imagine limo length... How well would that work with the wheels so far apart and the car so low to the ground? Any ideas?

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
Tim and I were toying with the idea a long while back and i think the car was doing to have to be about 35 feet. My thought was to alter it to the 89 size. Never went any further.

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
Definately wouldn't hurt to scale it down... Not too many people would be out there picking at the accuracies of the BTAS car. I think a little longer than the '89 car might work... Maybe 24, 25 feet?

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
id say about 23' i went form the hight of each canopy (minus the lip area on the 89) seeing as the seats in the 89 are arelady low enough. lol)

RJ shorten based on 120" wheelbase. Edit the picture too if you can. Base that on the 89's 141" wheelbase. Then you will have what I was thinking about. Nice work by the way.

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
I think that would work and still look really good. What do you think?
What would be some good wheels to use? I think that this is a car that could use some big wheels. Maybe 18" on the front and 20s on the rear. Since it was a cartoon I guess that wheel design would be up to the builder. Okay you young guys what do you think would look best.

See that's an old man talking. Don't you know how cool, hip, and awesome the big rims are? Okay lets say 18s or 20s all the way around.

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
I say 20's... These wheels are larger than life. Maybe brushed aluminum or allow... definately not polished chrome IMO.

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
it looks good with the same wheelbase as the 89, but seeing as the cockpit hs to be moved back its not hard to just add an extra 1' sometyhing to the frame. but i actuly like the idea of it having the same wheelbase as the 89 for when there sitting side by side, and i really done think anyone would notice the 2' diffrence so either way works for me
i dont know much about wheels, but ima say i agree, with the really thin tires dont know what there called but they look really really thin (yes really really thing was the best description i could come up with)

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
I remember Batman having passengers in the cartoon.... I am sure they will be a little more cramped than in the '89 though!

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
I would want to widen the center section to allow the cockpit to be larger. You would have to do it the entire lenght of the car to make it look right. Not widen the entire car just the hood, canopy and the area behind the canopy.
Something like this.

RE: Lifesize Batman TAS Batmobile
id say the front of the car is about 76" wide,
1' on each side to the raised center, that gives the cock pit area about 4'4" the back id say is about 8' that makes it stand out about 10" on teh side
