Introduce Yourself
As we get more and more people here registered and actively posting, I think it becomes necessary to introduce ourselves (at least what little info we are willing to share!). Actually, I stole this idea from Eric's board, but it works here too!
A couple of sample questions:

AGE:
HOMETOWN:
DO YOU OWN A REPLICA BAT-VEHICLE?
A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF YOUR PAST OR PRESENT INVOLVEMENT IN THIS INDUSTRY (if willing to share):
OCCUPATION:
YOUR LINKS OR ONLINE PHOTO ALBUMS:
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The Joker
Unknown to most people and I ain't sharing
No
I first got involved when that flying rodent dropped me into that vat of chemicals. That wasn't very easy to get over, and don't think that I didn't try.
Villain
After several failed attempts of turning Gotham into a giant circus and that cursed bat foiling me, I decided to surf the internet and stumbled upon this site and have been here ever since.
FYI~The bat thinks I'm dead, so I'd appreciate it if you fellow retired villains would keep my appearance under wraps.

DO YOU OWN A REPLICA BAT-VEHICLE? I own a hood and some spare parts... does that count? :)
A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF YOUR PAST OR PRESENT INVOLVEMENT IN THIS INDUSTRY (if willing to share): I started a Batmobile themed website, and it kinda got outta control. Now I talk to many of the builders and replica owners out there (not all of them though... I can name a few people who really don't like me all that much!) I do what I can to help people out when searching for these cars and replicas and whatnot. However, I don't update my site as much as I would like to anymore. Now that DH has this awesome forum rockin people's socks off, I am not really needed anymore! :)
OCCUPATION: I own a screeen printing shop, vending machine biz, and I am a gymnastics coach. That about covers the full gambit, right?

NAME: Earl Cooper (alias)
AGE: 24
HOMETOWN: New York, NY
DO YOU OWN A REPLICA BAT-VEHICLE? 1/10 scale RichMan's Toys, 1/18 Scale Hotwheels, the Toy-Biz and Kenner versions, a few partially built AMT/Ertl kits, the "official" (and inaccurate)blueprints. An unfinished computer model that I intend to port into the "right" game at some point.
A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF YOUR PAST OR PRESENT INVOLVEMENT IN THIS INDUSTRY (if willing to share): I made a low-polygon Batmobile add-on for the PC Midtown Madness 1, and started to build a more detailed one when there was hope that Midtown Madness 3 would be available for PC. On my website there are a few screenshots of other incomplete Batmobile projects.
OCCUPATION: College Student/ Army Reserve Sergeant
YOUR LINKS OR ONLINE PHOTO ALBUMS: www.angelfire.com/comics/cooper (I haven't updated this site in quite a while, due in part to a recent deployment, and in part to loss of interest/time)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I've been a Batman fan as since I was about four, I like to draw, and I dream of becoming a professional comic-book penciller. Like this site's owner, I drive a six-speed Black Trans-Am WS6 (nicknamed "The Blackmobile"), but mine is the 1996 model (couldn't afford the 98-02 bodystyle).

Welcome Earl! I was wondering when you would pop up around here. Your 3D rendering is on my site under the FEATURED 1989 REPLICAS section. I believe last time I e-mailed you was right before your deployment?
PS - You should have started your post with "Hi, My Name is Earl...."

Hey
Chris
23 Years old
I live in Canada
I don't own a batmobile yet. One day hopefully.
I don't work in the "industry", not to sure what that mean. But I love to work on cars, then drag race them. I also have lots of friends in the auto industry.

RE: Introduce Yourself
Yeah, Justin you did email me a while back...I haven't been keeping up on my email because I didn't have a lot of time back then, but I have a little more time now. BTW that's not my Batmobile on your site, it's Maoto's. I could tell right away because his has the AMT/Ertl/Richman's Toys incorrect trunk seam line (extreme curve). On my version, the curve is more subtle, like the movie version. That's not to take anything away from Maoto...his Batmobile impresses the hell out of me---over all, it has better textures (if you saw the textured version), and a much smoother (less-jagged) shape, that makes it a much closer interpretation of reality than mine is.
But there's two different purposes for our models. His was created primarily for rendering, and mine was created with the intent of porting it into a game eventually, so practicality required that I "budget" my polygons.

RE: Introduce Yourself
Do you think you could get me a small rotating '89 like the one on my site to replace it? Preferably a textured version??? That was the original purpose of my e-mail to you, but as you said, you were busy. It would be SUPER cool if it either a) was on a black background and looked like it had a lone spotlight shining down on it or b) was rendered on the Bat turntable like in the movie. If you find the time, that is!

DO YOU OWN A REPLICA BAT-VEHICLE? No. I have a built team assembled for a project start in summer 06, hopefully.
A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF YOR PAST OR PRESENT INVOLVEMENT IN THIS INDUSTRY: I have (like everyone here) been a fan of the car ever since first seeing it in 89. I have been a pain in the ass to Warners in the past by spreading pictures of the Canole Batmobile on AINT-IT-COOL-NEWS.COM as the Tumbler. Doing this opened the floodgates of the media resulting in Warners publishing the first photos before it's official rollout to squash any negative public opinion before the release of Batman Begins.
OCCUPATION: Business Owner / Night Worker (Two jobs folks.... something has to pay for the car.) Hence not a lot of time to myself, that is why am not around as much as I would like.
YOUR LINKS OR ONLINE PHOTO ALBUM: Can Barely afford time to get my camera out for other topic thread, but i'm working on it.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I have a loving GF who supports my homelife and we have two lovely Dogs TALOS and MIA. I love Christmas. I also write fiction and comedy.
A little song, a little dance..... Batman's head on a lance.

RE: Introduce Yourself
You got it Justin. Will do tonight. One thing, do you want the rendering to have the canopy open or closed (another difference between my Batmobile and Maoto's is mine has an modeled and textured interior, complete with "the driver").

RE: Introduce Yourself
I got the one you just sent me. AWESOME! Can you do one like this:
Batmobile with canopy closed does 360 degree turn. In the middle of the turn, canopy opens. When 360 is complete, canopy closes again and AVI loops. THAT WOULD BE COOL! Whatever you can do would be fine. It only has to go through the motions once, because I will loop it in Flash. You are KING, Earl!

RE: Introduce Yourself
I will try to do that this weekend for you. It might be a little difficult because I have to add the "pop and slide" of the canopy into the rotation animation, and I'm not very experienced on making "compound" animations yet. There is also something else to consider. If the canopy opens and closes while the car rotates, a "sacrifice" has to be made. Either the canopy is open when the front of the car is facing the camera (so you never get a shot of the "complete" closed Batmobile) or it is open when the rear of the car is facing the camera (which would kind of defeat the purpose, since you don't see the interior). I think there's a way that I can make it work though...I just have to try a few different renderings out. Perhaps from a more "top-down" p.o.v.?
