"Batcycle Begins"
So I have finally settled into my new screen printing shop, and I HOPE to be all caught up in a couple of weeks. I have cleared space for the motorcycle inside the production facility, away from all the equipment, where I can start the conversion. What I would like to know is, where can I get Polyurethane Foam board stock at cheap prices? I already know about this source: FIBRE GLAST
I am wondering, can I get it cheaper than $45 for (3) 4' x 2' sheets? Just wondering. When I was reading about this stuff on the RQRiley website (CLICK HERE) they mentioned it usually comes in 4' x 8' panels.
I am just starting this project after much delay (we all know how that works on around here!) but I kinda sorta mocked up the new body panels for the bike using wire, just to get a rough idea of the shape of the panels. I had a ton of scrap wire laying around from running the electrical all through my shop when I moved in. It worked ok for the frame, but I need to use THAT as a template to make cardboard panels for shape reference, THEN make the polyurethane panels and plywood formers out of THAT. Well, I am getting ahead of myself, but for those who do not know about this project, here is the Photoshop job Jack (Jack, or Tim?) did that got my mind whirling:

RE:
Justin, find a surfboard shop. That's what Chris Canole did when he made his Batmobile. You live in Cali there should be a surfboard manufacture on every corner.

RE:
Like just a regular surfboard shop, or a surfboard supply shop? Cuz we have lots of surfBOARD shops, but they only sell finished boards.

And it wasn't my design, Kevin - it was photoshopped and I fell in love with it so I stole it.

I think Kevin did the photoshop work. I hear he's pretty good at it..... Actually I did that just to give you an idea, but is that what you are going to go with or something else?
I guess Chris meant a surfboard maker. You can use Tim's blue foam as long as you mold it in Epoxy resin. Epoxy doesn't eat the blue foam like Poly.

I think I am gonna go with that design you did. I love it! I think it is a great interpretation of the older Bat Cycle, modernized without getting ridiculous. It maintains the classic lines and still looks meaner than the original. I am in the process of fabricating custom shotgun pipes for it (there are none available for this bike, and it makes the thing sound AWESOME!) and that will just add to the cool factor.

RE:
Now it looks like a Goldwing Bat Cycle.... I kinda like the tank design on that one, but the original one you did has a cleaner and sharper look to it. I MIGHT consider doing some sort of wheel cover for the rear tire though... That might look cool.

I talked to Eric last night an he is going to put me a Batcycle kit together. So I can put it on my Harley Sporster, I think it will be much better than the Yahama two stroke.
Eric is now my best friend, his kit came from the Bob Butts orginal molds.

Well if you have a friend sending you a free Bat bike kit then you should send me a free Black Beauty nose. One good deed deserves another. Sounds good to me...

Justin,
Check out this place: Elliott Foam. My friend used thia plase to build his 66 car. They sell factory seconds, which he said was as cheap as Bluefoam found in hardware stores at the time.

RE:
Justin,
I couldn't find any prices on the site. Also, you'd probably have to pick up the seconds.
