RE: ??????????why not
Paul has answered that somewhere already. (did someone say search feature?) I think in a nutshell it had something to do with the car being molded very quickly at one time. Paul?

RE: ??????????why not
Several ways, I suppose. You could carve them in using a dremel or a router or whatever. You could also sculpt your own out of whatever materials you prefer, pull a mold and then a part just like other body mods.

Nitro, do you know if I ever made a corrected version. I thought I did, but now I don't remember.

RE: ??????????why not
I added 1 3/4 in. to your Cad + moved the angle down at the small vents and added one more slot. Its not spot on but I think they will look good.

RE: ??????????why not
I thought the outline was correct but was just short one vent. What I did was get the outline and the position of the first and last vent in the correct locations and then I equally spaced the remaining vents. Unfortunately, SOMEONE told me the wrong number (I guess I could have counted them myself)

RE: ??????????why not
Tim your slots are good but the out side angle starts to rise going to the center. When you add one more slot its starts pushing up toward the window.

RE: ??????????why not
Those slots are not all the same. They were each made to fit in their own particular location. If you try to move them over they will no longer fit correctly. I would have to do them over to get 27 slots not just move them and add one.

RE: ??????????why not
Well from a practical point of view using my SDV (super detail vision)
If rain runs into those vents, we see in the 2nd movie that all of the computer controls are directly underneath them! Water + electronics = ZZRTZTZ!!!
Now if they are seperate little watertight "dishes" underneath that wisk it off to the sides, and perhaps drain down, why? What purpose do they serve? They can't be vents for the flow through of the motor intake to remove heat if they don't open to the engine area, right?
They would not be much help in keeping rain from getting into your canopy track around the edge either.
These can be painted on by a tromp loi artist, without the water problems I suppose. But if all that electronics are underneath, I wouldn't want any seams around it. But as they pop up to be accessible to work on, (good idea) They would have to be separate pieces anyway, but the vents aren't needed. Any ideas? On most street cars we have vents there to create flow through to get heat away from the engine (and to let us see the smoke when the engine is on fire!)
detail vision power fading.... uh,
who we talking about?

RE: ??????????why not
Well, number one, they have to be there just to be accurate. Two, why couldn't they be functional? If nothing else have a tray under it with a drain tube. This would also work well for pouring out your fountain drink when it gets warm.

RE: ??????????why not
Then they fill with rain water, never dry out and gather dirt! Everything must have a purpose! Could be intake air for the passenger area... with a drain when it rains...
