I can get an older camaro iroc Z for dirt cheap from a friend (camaro been sitting in a garage and looks good...starts and runs great). Camaro got good strong engine, The wheel based is 108 inches (so I need to extend the frame by around 33 inches or so). Should I even chop up a classic??.
Mechanically working on the car and rewiring is not an issues. Did some mechanical works for about 2 years with a company, I'm pretty good mechanically with automobile; by trade, I am a licensed electrician, been doing the works sinced 93' (almost a MASTER...only needs top pass the test).

Dont waste your money on a Camaro to much to modify, stick with the largest frame you can get your hands on. You will save a lot of money in the long run.
Since this is your second post you really need to go through the past posts and read about frames and familiarize yourself with all aspects of the car before you spend any money or commit to a project of this magnitude.

I actually found this sight while searching for 89' replica over a year ago and have been browsing and learning (taking notes, collecting build pics, diagrams, saving them on my PC, etc). I'm starting to post so that I may have the pleasure to view the restricted post one day. I'm a die hard Batman fan sinced grade school (actually 3rd grade) and still am today. I'm pretty much familiar with the 89' by reading over the years and continueing to learn more through this sight and other searches. I agreed, this will be a project of magnitude.

According to the post; the man is using a 74' transam (he did a very good job I might add) and according to my finding the width differences of an 86' camaro and 74' transam is a mere .4 inches difference and the wheel based is 8 inches difference (the frame should be similar in size + or - some measurements here and there). The camaro runs great (It's an V8 and I believed it's a 5.7 liter 350 engine---it could be a 305 v8 but i have to make sure--don't remember exactly); I only would have to do some modification to the frame, rewired the electrical and mate the 89' body to the car. I will save time and money by not having to rebuilt the engine, rebuilding the transmission (transmission is already rebuild), etc. Besides, the shifter to engage the transmission is already on the floor and not on the steering column (this will save money and will take some modification to look like the batmobile shifter). Overall, it's a good candidate for a base car.
NOW, IF I CAN FIND SOMEONE WHO will sell me a GOOD shell in the near future.

Well welcome to ya. Here's the deal. The 74 TA frame had to be lengthened as will any base car you choose. You need to get the wheelbase to 141" for the body to fit. Good luck with your project.
