RE: Bill W. replica

From Bill...

Hi Gang,

I just got a small batch of pix sent to Tim, they show my car in its' original form, "an 83 Riveria", and the lengthwise extension of the frame by 33", and the start of the wiring. Since these pix, I have widened the rear frame by 22" and will probably build over parts of the original body in some places using the Tim-Method of polyeurethane foan as a base material.

I am scratch-building an 89, and it is on a very limited budjet, but I am hoping I can make up for that with extra elbow-grease, and perhaps by substituting Duct Tape for Fiberglass!?? Just kidding about that by the way.

Anyway I will keep the pix coming in if there is any interest, please just remember, I am NOT a pro, and this is pretty much my first real car project.

to be unnatural

My Sergeant looks just like Senator Palptine, white hair and everything. After briefing he requested for me to do something. My reply was “ What is thy bidding my master” the whole squad broke into laughter, well I guess you had to be there.

Well since this topic went awry again.

At the ceremony for George Lucas’ AFI lifetime achievement award, Carrier Fisher properly thanks the director for over two decades’ worth of Star Wars nerds masturbating to an image of her in a slave-girl bikini

RE: Bill W. replica

Bill,
you've got your work cut out for ya!
How are you building the body form...plywood stations and foam or?

RE: Bill W. replica

Thanks for the pic posting Tim

Hi gang, I will try and answer the questions as I can, The bat-body will be an amalgamation, I will use some of the original riveria body as a starting point to avoid having to do all the fender / seating wells from scratch, some plywood ribs will also be used, and I plan on doing alot of poly-E foam sculpting. Fiberglass will be the top layer over the layers of everything else.

Jack asked if I'd considered doing the animated batmobile, I am guessing you mean from the cartoon??? I dont get good reception where I live, and see very little T.V anymore, as I hate commercials with a passion bordering on a vengance, but will sit in front of a T.V. with an old movie I've seen a dozen times,,,while gleefully making a mess on the floor doing custom woodcarving, or using a dremmel tool on various Bat_Parts in my living room. Someday my live-in girl friend will undoubtedly kill me because of all the vaccuming she needs to do around me!

Baneful wanted details.......ask away, I will answer any questions I can for you.

I took pix of the most recent progress, and will try and send them to Tim again tomorrow night if he's still willing to post em. :)

Thanks for the kind support all !!!
A fellow fan..... Bill W.

RE: Bill W. replica

That's looking really cool...I started a project like that once, but it got scraped, because I had to move a few years ago. I had a '77 Thunderbird that I was gonna try to replicate George Barris's, THE CAR. The original was based off a '69-'71 Lincoln Mark III, but the T-bird had a lot of similar lines and such, that it would've worked. I wish I could have finished it.
