Update.
So this weekend I finally got the time to put the motor back on the vehicle after removing the governor. and like I said...i know this won't be exactly where i want to be as far as power goes, but wow there is a serious difference. Again the engine is a Honda GX390 13HP. I have a K&N style air filter and an aftermarket exhaust straight pipe. BEFORE i removed the governor i ran the vehicle down the street and timed how long it took to get from the end of the block to my driveway...no granted there was no official timekeeper (i was using my phone stopwatch)...the first run took 33.7 seconds.
On Sunday after putting the motor back on and running my little benchmark again...the same distance took 22.1 seconds. it also feels much different taking off. so i'd like to take it out to the site again ad see what happens...but....
2 weird things happened.
the first....my drive belt somehow filpped? like it was put on backwards. Are the new much higher rev's doing this?
the second is the Comet clutch is now partially engaged. How? it's like it's a little stuck...again, the High rev's did this? How do i get the part of the clutch that touches the belt back to it's original idle position?
...does it come in black?

No Governor on the Honda GX390. Again...not the desired speed boost but a pretty big difference anyway...

1:25 had me smiling ear to ear!! And i love how you turned to look at the camera man, that was cool. I agree with T, get us some pictures of your set up. I'm thinking its probably the rpm's flipping your belt through another issue coming from it all.

haha...speed demon..yea right...you can say that when i can spin and burn those 29" Swamp Lites!!! some pics...I haven't tried anything yet...was going to today.. the engine is stalling when put into drive....it's what was happening when I first tried a belt that was too thick....so now the clutch is kinda stuck...i was thinking about trying to tap it back with a hammer but something in my head said...um, No.

I'm curious if the higher rpms is causing the clutch compression on the belt to increase, and its going so high that its ultimately causing the belt to squeeze, turn sideways, and then end up flipping over.
what we might find out from all this is that Conrad will need a larger power plant to get the speed he wants as well as the torque to turn the tires.

Hey thanks T let's see what happens. I've been to that site before...very cool and everyone there knows their karts. Yes...Yes Shaggy.....that could very well be the reason the belt "Fipped out" so to speak. yeah about that power plant you mentioned...working on it.
